‘Stomp’ is a coffee shop based in Heaton Moor, Stockport. To mark its grand opening, I was commissioned to create a series of promotional posters designed to generate interest, encourage footfall and create conversation around the brand. The brief was to incorporate Stomps existing logo
within an original illustrative concept that reflected
the character and energy of the space.
The creative direction was inspired by the distinctive wear patterns found on the soles of well loved shoes. Marks created through repeated journeys and every day movement. These individual footprints were combined to create a series of unique, branded compositions, reflecting the idea that not two
cups of coffee are the same.
The Production process played a key role in shaping the final outcome. Screen printing was chosen for its ability to build
the image through alters, mirroring the process of combining coffee, milk and foam to create the perfect cup. The slight inconsistencies within the series were embraced as part of the concept, referencing the spills, imperfections and
individuality of the coffee making process. These human elements reinforce the idea that every visit, along with
every cup of coffee is a unique ritual.
A personalised stencil, used to dust chocolate over the finished drinks became another point of connection within
the concept. It echoed the screen printing process, creating a subtle link between the artwork in the posters
and the artwork on coffee.
